Julie (Julieta) Castellanos, who immigrated from Guatemala, was an entrepreneur, and one of the first to raise awareness about Guatemalan folkloric dance, music and her beautiful handmade textile work to the broader Rhode Island community.
Julieta (Julie) Castellanos is one of the founders of Comité Guatemalteco, the first Guatemalan cultural group in Rhode Island. She is also the first Latina to earn a Master's in Psychology in the state.
